History of First National Bank
* 1874 - Bank organized as The National Bank of McMinnville
* 1905 - Name changed to The First National Bank of McMinnville
* 1909 - First automobile drives down McMinnville’s Main Street
* 1910 - First typewriter used at bank instead of pen and ink
* 1922 - Bank purchased Morford property at Main and Spring Streets
* 1924 - New cut stone bank building completed
* 1925 - Bank forms First Trust Company; later merged into bank
* 1929 - FDR declares “Bank Holiday” due to Great Depression; FNB reopens early
* 1934 - FNB rebounds from the Depression and sees phenomenal growth years
* 1944 - FNB is 70 years old at $4,828,728; June 6, 1944 is D-Day invasion of WWII
* 1954 to 1964 - FNB see industrial and nursery growth in Warren County; $16,894,381 Total Assets
* 1967 - FNB purchased Farmers and Merchants Bank in Viola
* 1972 - Bank acquires Dixie Theater; remodels main office; 2 branches opened in 1970s (Plaza and Northgate)
* 1974 - 100-year anniversary of FNB; $46,000,000 in Total assets
* 1987 - Sparta Road branch opens
* 1989 - FNB installs in-house computer system; total assets hit $139,074,000
* 1996 - Plaza Branch relocates to new Smithville Highway Office
* 1997 - Morrison Branch opened
* 2009 - FNB 135 years old; remodel project underway; 3rd oldest bank in Tennessee
